According to a poll of Qazaq youth conducted in 2020, about 42% of respondents expressed a desire to emigrate. This is quite relevant for developing countries. When meeting basic needs is impossible, but schools teach: “Your home is here!”

Kids are no fools. They understand the real home is where big salaries are, where they won’t be shouted at and shamed, where their feelings and thoughts are valid. No one wants to keep home in order with a tyrannical father. It’s easier to escape.

If youngsters had at least enough money to cross the border, they would not have taken part in the polls, but had already brought intentions to life. Alas they can only dream and live from afar.
